As a Social Care Coordinator you will be dealing with Care Workers, Local Authority Care Arrangers, Social Workers, Service Users and their families. You will need to be methodical and organised but also patient and understanding being able to prioritise your own work. You will of course be responsible for completing rotas for care workers ensuring that these are done to a high standard.
This is an office based, salaried position and you will be working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 9-5 though you may occasionally be expected to cover on call which is out of hours. In exceptional circumstances you may be asked to deliver care to service users for which payment in addition to your salary will be given.
A typical day in the life of a social care coordinator
Ensuring staff rotas are completed to high standard one week in advance
Accepting, processing and allocating new referrals for business
Dealing with reports made from staff, service users and other professionals
Line management of a team of staff
Ensuring supervisions and observation checks are kept up to date
Liaising with the Care Plan Coordinator, Supervisors and Administration Staff to ensure a smooth service delivery
Preparation of reports as required and requested by the Branch Manager
General office duties
On call duties when required
In extreme circumstances delivering care to service users
Ideally you will be the sort of person who can remain calm under pressure, already have experience of hands on care delivery and hold a QCF level 3 in Health and Social Care.
