As a Supervisor with Safehands Care you will be supporting disabled and older people to live as independently as possible in their own homes. Ideally you will have a caring nature, be a people person and have a QCF level 3 in Health and Social Care. If you have worked as a Care Worker and are looking to progress to the next level this could be the ideal step up in your continuing career in social care.
A typical day in the life of a Supervisor will involve visiting a number of service users after the Care Worker has been to support the service user, to ensure that care has been provided in accordance with the care plan and all documentation has been completed correctly. This will also include following up with the care workers to discuss your findings. Your duties will also include assisting the Care Plan Coordinator with service user reviews reporting any concerns to your line manager. As a Supervisor you will cover the on-call on a rota basis and you may be needed to provide hands on care to service users at short notice.
As a Supervisor you will work 35 hours per week and we would expect you to be available to work alternate weekends and some evening shifts as we provide care between the hours of 7am to 11pm. You will need to be able to drive and have access to a vehicle as you will be expected to be able to travel across the area to carry out reviews and observation checks.
The role of a Supervisor is very rewarding and could be your next step in a career in social care.
